Janet Hammond MBACP

Psychodynamic Counsellor

I strive to give my clients a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space in which to explore what's important to them.  I know what it feels like to have nobody to talk to or family and friends that just don't seem to understand you.  That feeling of confusion, you know your unhappy but don't really understand why, or you know why but cannot find a way forward.  Counselling can help clear that confusion.

After working with the NHS and in the City of London for a great many years, I just felt unhappy so changed it to something that felt right for me.  I have to admit, it didn't happen overnight and took time but I don't regret it and fully recognise it's not always open to us to make those choices.  Life is tough, maintaining that work/life/relationship balance can be difficult but my own past experience really helps in my practice.  I am now an experienced Counsellor who has helped many clients to find their own path forward.  My clients are dear to me, working together we can bring clarity and understanding.

As well as my own practice, I volunteer as a Staff Counsellor for a North London charity and work with an ambulance sector charitable organisation to provide counselling for ambulance staff and their families from all over the United Kingdom.  I practice in both Finchley Central (next to Finchley Central Underground Station) and in Braintree, Essex, as well as online and via the telephone.

I recognise that seeking help is not easy but often the first step is the hardest.  I look forward to hearing from you if you are ready to take that first step but, in the event that you need more time, thank you for visiting my website and I truly wish you well for your own future path.
